Stay True Fall/Winter 2023
My creative, liberatory practice makes me do what seem right in the moment. Showing up authentically invites interrogations and insults linked to our identities from various quarters. I learned to accept them, as they teach me what makes me (in)visible. And so, my praxis isn’t just cultural and knowledge production, but also a counter-force to everything and everyone that stops me and women like me from shaking the narratives. With help from friends and mentors, I’m learning to step into an ‘authentic leadership,’ joy, and peace. I hope you find some resonance with my spirit of identity-making.
